Reporting a compatibility problem
Adapter behavior varies widely, and specific reports are what make compatibility better. If a scanner did not connect or the vehicle did not respond, the following details help most: the phone model and OS version, the adapter brand and how it connects (Bluetooth, BLE or Wi-Fi), the vehicle make, model and year, and what the app showed on screen when it stopped.
Before you write
Many connection problems come down to the vehicle state or the adapter itself. It is worth checking that the ignition is on, that the adapter is seated firmly in the diagnostic port and powered, and that no other OBD app is holding a connection to the same adapter.
